Welcome to The Renatus Project

The Latin word renatus means born again. Indeed, those who have experienced an organ failure, the subsequent struggle to survive and then an organ transplant describe this lifesaving event as being born again. This new life feels like a miracle. It gives a new perspective on the routine of daily life, human relationships and aspects of professional life.

The lives include thousands of remarkable stories, each one riveting, inspiring and in many cases hard to believe. The Renatus project is a platform to tell those remarkable human stories of understanding and compassion, love and survival.

During my own ordeal and ensuing transplant, I met many amazing individuals facing the struggle to stay alive and be with their loved ones, to have one more chance to live, love and pursue their passion. Whether through the thoughtfulness and generosity of those who donated their organs after their death or from living donors, they are all true heroes who saw their fellow human beings’ zest for survival and stepped in. Here are the ways you can help.
